Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society can be described as an Honor Society for people who are interested in the Social Studies. Details about the national parent organization can be found here . 

Some application requirements are:

• You need at least a 3.00 unweighted GPA to get in.

• You need to be a Junior or Senior at AHS

• You need to have taken at least two Social Studies classes and are planning on taking a third

• In those two classes, you must have received at least a B+

• You must have shown some sort of interest in the Social Studies or Civic Engagement through the clubs and activities you have partaken in

If you are accepted into the Honor Society you will:

• Dedicate 15 hours of time to the club

• ​How you use these 15 hours is up to you. You can: 

  • `Fundraise for the club, or fundraise for another cause under our name

  • Submit papers to Social-Studies related publications (hours will be given on time spent researching)

  • Enter Social Studies related competitions (hours will be counted on time spent studying)

  • Volunteering that shows civic engagement ( volunteering on election day, helping out at a town meeting ...)

  • and much much more
